Introduction |
National Kaohsiung University of Science and Technology (NKUST) was established on February 1, 2018, through the merger of National Kaohsiung University of Applied Sciences, National Kaohsiung First University of Science and Technology, and National Kaohsiung Marine University. With a student population of 28,000, it is the largest university of science and technology in Taiwan. NKUST deepens its original characteristics by establishing long-term connections with regional industries in the fields of engineering and electronics. It has a solid industrial foundation in precision machinery, civil engineering, materials chemistry, mold making, electrical engineering, electronics, and other fields, emphasizing the concept of "industry-oriented quality." To adapt to global trends, NKUST actively promotes STEAM education, smart business, and interdisciplinary practical courses, focusing on students' innovation, practical skills, interdisciplinary capabilities, and employability, with a special emphasis on "innovation and entrepreneurship." Additionally, NKUST has the most comprehensive marine technology-related departments, establishing a high-quality and complete foundation for marine technology industry-academia research, making it distinct as a university with a focus on "marine technology" and the only vocational institution in the country that cultivates marine professionals. |
